What our certifications certify

Four marks appear across the range. They cover different things: how an animal was slaughtered, how it was treated, how the carcase is described, and the carbon footprint of the business behind it.

Is Suma Gourmet halal?

Yes. The range is halal-certified: slaughter and handling follow Islamic requirements, which is also a condition of importing meat into the UAE.

What is AAWCS?

The Australian Animal Welfare Certification System — an independently audited scheme covering the welfare of livestock through processing. It is a third-party audit, not a self-declaration.

What is AUS-MEAT?

AUS-MEAT maintains the standard language used to describe Australian beef and lamb — cut names, specifications and the marbling score. It is why an MB number on an Australian cut means the same thing from one supplier to the next.

What is Climate Active?

An Australian government-backed certification for carbon neutrality, awarded after a business measures and offsets its emissions against the standard.
